In De La Hoya's opinion this fight is pretty much even for both sides. Both of the fighters are in danger. He also said that the best way to win the fight is going to be to utilize the jab. De La Hoya used it in the first seven rounds of their fight very successfully. Because he was at a later stage in his career he wasn't able to keep up the pace though, and was eventually defeated by Mayweather.

The Tickets Won’t Last Long!

There’s going to be boxing battle unlike any other in history on September 14 when Floyd Mayweather and Alvarez face-off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Both of these fighters have never lost, so whoever walks away from this battle defeated is going to have the first loss of his career on their record. Both of these fighters have truly impressive resumes, so no one knows who is going to win this incredible fight.
Mayweather is going to be coming into this bout with 44 wins in his career, 26 of them coming by way of knockout. Alvarez on the other hand has 42 wins 30 of his wins coming by knockout, the one drawback to his record is that he does have a draw. Besides that one draw their records are practically even.
Mayweather needed a fighter who has a legitimate record and skills, and because Alvarez has been doing so well lately this was a great time to make the fight. Not only that though, this is a fight fans have been wanting to see for several years. The fight was first announced on May 30 by Mayweather on his twitter, ever since that day fight fans have been going crazy all around the world.
This fight is going to bring in at least $18 million from the sale of tickets, this is going to be higher than the previous all-time record by $200,000. This old record was back when Oscar De La Hoya and Mayweather fought in 2007.
The chief of Golden boy promotions has also stated that this fight could make over 19 million depending on the amount of complementary tickets that are handed out.
The amount of hype that has been generated for this fight is incredible, the two fighters have already hit the road on their 11 city media tour. Both of these superstars have a couple of boxing titles under their belt currently, so when this fight starts it’s going to be a barn burner.
Fans and media everywhere are wondering who is going to come out of this fight victorious. Both boxers are undefeated so this is going to be the first time in either of their careers that they will have a loss on their record if they lose.
Because Alverez is heavier he is going to be throwing the harder punches, and probably a larger volume of them as well. But the most important factor about his punches is going to be whether or not they are accurate enough to be able to significantly damage Mayweather. Mayweather is one of the worlds top boxers when it comes to defense, he can win a fight never having landed a significant strike of his own. That’s because of his incredible defenses!
In his last five fights Mayweather has only knocked out one of his opponents, and these five fights have taken place over the last six years. That means that it’s unlikely that Mayweather is going to knock out Alvarez, unless he gets a good punch straight to his jaw or something along those lines.

Alverez is said to be devising a strategy that makes it possible for him to defeat Mayweather. Going into this fight he already has a size advantage. To make the 152 pound weight class he is going to need to lose a little bit of weight. Having that extra weight on Mayweather could be a significant advantage in this bout.
